Unique and Exquisite pair of Original Early Victorian Era 18k Gold ( tested ), and oxidize blackened silver top (as all the diamonds were set back in the day to bring out the brilliance) Earrings with shimmering Old Mine cut Diamonds.
Circa 1840s, Super Rare and Authentic. Before the diamonds from South Africa came onto the market, these diamonds rings were worn as signs of wealth.
Four larger ( center and the top ) diamonds and 20 smaller Old European and Old Mine Cushion cut diamonds have the total estimated Diamond weight of Shy 6.00CT ( 5.95ct):
Two top Old mine Diamonds are approx. 0.60ctw.
The center Diamonds are:
1.36ct Old European Diamond , accompanied by GIA report and graded as L VS1, 1.21ct , graded by GIA as L VS2.
The diamonds faces up very well and looks warm white in natural light. When judging diamonds in antique jewelry, one must be careful not to judge antique diamonds by modern standards. Antique diamonds have a soft romantic glow that many people find very appealing.
Smaller diamonds are very well matched, brilliant and sparkly and are estimated to be I-J-K color and VS-SI clarity overall.
The Diamonds are exquisitely set into cut down Collete.
The 18k Yellow Gold Shepherds hook wire backs length is 14.59mm.
The length of the diamond part is 20.44mm.
The bottom Cluster- 13.75mm in diameter.
