These delightful and sensuous antique garnet earrings from the mid-to-latter nineteenth century jiggle and dance with every movement. This pair of ear pendants were made in England.
A pair of wine red, oval shape cabochon garnets are classically framed with Etruscan style, minuscule twisted wire and granulation work with multicolor , from rose to green, 14k gold ( tested).
Each designed as an oval garnet cabochon with diamond point fly decoration and graduated fringe, suspended from a circular garnet cabochon surmount.
The flies rotate freely on the garnet. The flies legs are in different positions.
The ear pendants have hook fittings for pierced ears. The garnets are foil back and appear well matched.
Length 7.1cms. Weight 13.4gms.
Extremely rare , and the most desirable by any true antique collector.
Condition
The pair is in good overall Original condition with light scratches in keeping with general wear.
A couple of the diamond points are deficient to a fly. Very small chips to garnets. Overall light wear commensurate with age and use. No signs of damage or repair to the mounts.
