This is a wonderful rarity. We don't come across many original 1900s moonstone jewels, and this one is a chic, stunning and versatile treasure from Britain. And it is a very special one indeed.
Like its celestial namesake, the moonstone--with its glowing adularescence--emanates a billowy, bluish moonlight-like sheen and is linked to protection, love, and other romantic notions associated with the moon. The enchanting, ethereal & sizable (calculated weight 24.36cts) high-profile (aka sugarloaf) cabochon moonstone that glows in this alluring early 1900s pendant or brooch frames in striking contrast--by glimmering red calibre rubies* and 4 bezel set antique natural diamonds positioned at East, West, North, and South symbolizing a compass. It is a very special one indeed with ALL original parts and details!

Moonstone calculated weight 24.36cts, based on estimated dimensions of 17.85x18.03x10.99mm. Moonstone shows good bluish white adularescence.
*24 Synthetic ruby, red and transparent, well matched. Original to the piece and the period, synthetic rubies were used for their color consistency and flawless clarity and were often more papular than natural.

Hand fabricated in Rose gold (true to the era, gold purity is inconsistent, tested between 9-14k) and silver.
Era: Circa 1900s.
Condition: All in Original Condition, Cleaned, with some authentic antique Patina (can be polished) All gemstones are in place and seem original. Surface scratches and discoloration ( aka patina) in keeping with general wear. Diamonds appear relatively bright, one tiny nicked at the girdle. Consistent with age. Cleaned and ready to wear!
