1900s GIA Mughal Carved EMERALD and Old Mine Rose Cut Diamond Platinum Topped-Gold Pendant Brooch

MAGNIFICENT AND HISTORIC: A MUGHAL CARVED EMERALD AND DIAMOND PENDANT BROOCH

This spectacular jewel is an exquisite example of the Edwardian aesthetic, where large, opulent pieces were favored and metal surfaces were richly diamond-encrusted for maximum shimmer. This is a magnificent nod to the Mughal revival style—made famous by jewelers like Cartier in the early 1900s —who celebrated the grandeur of Indian art by incorporating antique-style carved emeralds into contemporary settings.
The versatile piece, convertible between a brooch and a pendant, features a large, convex, near-pear-shaped emerald centerpiece beautifully carved in the Mughal style with a superb floral, lotus-like design. This centerpiece is elegantly framed and suspended within an ornate setting of Platinum-topped 14k Yellow Gold and is profusely set with numerous antique old mine-cut and rose-cut diamonds in a classical Edwardian garland design.
The brooch suspends three additional pierced, drop-shaped carved emeralds, each set with a small diamond in its drill hole.

Centerpiece Emerald (GIA Certified - #2231747680): approx. 70.0 carats (23.15 x 21.65 x 7.69 mm). Natural Beryl / Emerald, Carved Modified Pear Cabochon, Green, F2 Clarity Enhancement.
Suspending Emerald Drops (Three Stones): 2 Side Drops approx. 21.0 ct each (16.28x9.28mm & 16.6x10.51mm) These are two separate stones. 1 Center Drop approx. 24.4ct (20x10mm).This is a third separate stone.
Accent Diamonds: Approximately 2.00 carats total (110 stones). Old mine-cut and rose-cut, G VS/SI - I/J SI/I overall.
DETAILS & CONDITION: Metal: Tested 14k Yellow Gold and Platinum. No assay marks present.
Measurements: Substantial size, measuring 21/2 x 13/4 inches (63.5 x 44.45 mm). Height approx. 15.20mm.
Total Gross Weight: 26.75 grams.
Condition: Good Antique. Metal tested with XRF. The setting shows a natural patina, which is characteristic of antique jewelry. Gemstones show minor surface wear; emeralds have typical heavy inclusions and surface-reaching natural inclusions, and a few accent diamonds have tiny, unnoticeable chips. The piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee condition and authenticity.
